Once again West Lakeland Dog Training Club hosted the ever popular Fun inter club agility day at Seascale Cricket club.
This is an annual invitation event and offers a great fun introduction to the world of competing in agility for new people and dogs as well as a bit of friendly competition for more experienced members.
This year the match was between West Lakes, Barrow DTC, Wigton DTC and Crooked Oak Agility based in Carlisle. The weather was very pleasant, considering it was the first day of February! The soup and cakes were scrummy as usual and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Wigton retained the shield for the second year in a row. Well done Wigton! Sadly, West Lakes came last again, although, we were a few of our members down this year so I think we gave the other clubs a run for their money.
There are some fabulous photos posted to our club’s facebook page by various people, so please, be sure to go visit and have a look. I only took a few action shots as for some reason I only took one lens with me, which is not ideally suited to distance shots. But here are the couple I got.
In our advanced class at Egremont’s obedience classes we always joke that you need a black dog to get in, because apart from one or two they are all black (and white). We seem to be carrying on that trend in these photos!
Of course, the dogs never know how well we did or didn’t do. They just enjoy being with their people (and doing agility of course)!
If you think you’d like to get involved in agility, or other club events, why not contact us?
